Associate Medical Director, Clinical Development, Ophthalmology

We are seeking a Medical Director, Clinical Development to join our Clinical Development Program (CDP) team, supporting our Ophthalmology therapeutics portfolio. In this role, you will serve as Medical Lead for clinical trials, designing clinical study concepts and leading the Global Clinical Study Team, while collaborating with discovery teams, the Therapeutic Head, and Strategic Program Teams to deliver high-quality, scientifically sound program milestones.   • Travel: 10% to relevant conferences

Discover your role:

  • Act as medical expert and leader in interactions with external stakeholders
  • Define clinical trial-related Clinical Development Program goals and objectives
  • Partner with discovery teams to shape the next generation of targets in the field
  • Ensure the scientific accuracy of clinical study concepts through rigorous review and consultation with internal and external experts
  • Present clinical study concepts to the Therapeutic Head, Strategic Program Teams, and internal governance meetings
  • Lead the Global Clinical Study Team to deliver high-quality program milestones on schedule
  • Oversee the medical content of clinical study reports and the analysis of clinical data, including safety monitoring, to ensure patient safety

This role requires:

  • MD or equivalent, with board eligibility or certification in Ophthalmology
  • 0-2 years of academic clinical or translational research experience
  • Experience in Ophthalmic drug development strongly preferred
