The Apprenticeship programme is crafted to provide apprentices with the required knowledge, skills, and competence to perform as a qualified craftsperson. Under the mentorship of expert technicians, the Apprentice is primarily responsible for providing a support service to the site as part of the Technical Operations team specializing in Electrical and Calibration activities.

What you’ll do:

  • Completing all training, both on and off site phases as per SOLAS Electrical Instrumentation Apprenticeship training programme curriculum

  • Providing Electrical/ Instrumentation/Calibration support to the Technical Operations, Quality Assurance, Engineering and Operations teams or any other area as the need arises

  • Being responsible for installing, testing and solving site electrical systems, PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controllers), PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) and carrying out assigned electrical duties

  • Completing both scheduled and unscheduled Electrical and Calibration maintenance activities

  • Working on automated control systems and with low voltage systems

  • Loop checking, tuning, troubleshooting and start-up of instrumentation

  • Calibrating of various types of instrumentation including temperature, pressure, level, flow and analytical instruments or others as the need arises

  • Aligning with site Environmental, Health and Safety policies and striving to maintain an accident free environment

  • Ensuring documentation of maintenance activities to current GxP standards both in paper based records and the computerized maintenance system

  • Maintaining the physical condition and environment of all areas

  • Following current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs)
