At Regeneron, we use science and innovation to develop life-changing medicines for people with serious diseases. We are seeking a Cardiac and Vascular Rodent Surgeon to join our cardiovascular research team, serving as a key contributor to the design and execution of longitudinal in-vivo rodent studies supporting our cardiovascular disease programs. In this role, you will perform advanced surgical models of cardiac disease, conduct precision dosing and physiological monitoring, and generate high-quality functional and molecular data to support target validation and therapeutic development.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, science-driven organization making a meaningful difference to patients worldwide.
When & where:
Location: Tarrytown, NY
Work model/flexibility: Onsite
Discover your role:
Perform surgical models of cardiac and vascular disease in mice and rats, including transverse aortic constriction (TAC), myocardial infarction (MI), and renal/kidney models (RKM)
Administer test articles via multiple routes (IV, SC, IM) or osmotic minipump implantation with precision and consistency across longitudinal study timelines
Implant and manage telemetry devices for continuous blood pressure and ECG monitoring in conscious, freely moving rodents
Conduct invasive hemodynamic assessments using PV-loop methodology to quantify cardiac function
Perform ex-vivo tissue collection and processing, including cardiac dissociation via Langendorff perfusion
Manage end-to-end in-vivo study logistics, including animal health monitoring, surgical scheduling, and post-operative care
Analyze and interpret physiological, hemodynamic, and functional data using PRISM, PONEMAH, and other relevant analysis software
Generate high-quality figures, reports, and data summaries for internal presentations, regulatory packages, and peer-reviewed publications
Maintain rigorous records of surgical procedures, animal welfare documentation, and study protocols in compliance with institutional and regulatory standards
Collaborate closely with study directors, therapeutic area scientists, and cross-functional teams to align surgical and analytical approaches with program goals

Demonstrated hands-on expertise in rodent cardiac and vascular surgical models (TAC, MI, RKM)
Proficiency in rodent dosing techniques (IV, SC, IM) and telemetry implantation for blood pressure and ECG monitoring
Experience with invasive hemodynamic measurement techniques, including PV-loop analysis
Hands-on experience with Langendorff perfusion and cardiac tissue dissociation
Proficiency with data analysis software such as PRISM and PONEMAH
Strong understanding of rodent anatomy, physiology, and survival surgery best practices
