We are looking to add a Supervisor Automation to our growing team, ensuring that automated manufacturing equipment, plant utilities, and packaging equipment are fully operational and reliable in order to support manufacturing operations. As a domain authority on automation equipment and systems you will supervise a team of Automation Technicians and contracted resources that support automation work. Location: Rensselaer
Work model/flexibility: On-Site
Working Shift: Tuesday - Saturday 12AM - 8:30AM
Training Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM approximately 6 weeks
Discover your role:
Provide mentoring and development opportunities to Automation Technicians while also providing supervisory support of activities on the plant floor
Full gowning when entering and working on production floor
Plan, coordinate, and schedule required maintenance/repairs on automated systems
Communicate and coordinate automation issue resolution between Automation, Manufacturing and Facilities groups
Support team in maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing automation equipment and systems
Support deviation management process, including review of investigation reports, root cause analysis and corrective actions
You are well versed in automation concepts, possessing strong mechanical and electrical proficiency
Demonstrate experience in the operation and maintenance of automation equipment/systems and have working knowledge of Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs, HMIs, and computerized systems
Have leadership/supervisory experience, with the ability to lead and mentor others
Possess strong critical thinking, communication, and technical troubleshooting skills
Take initiative and empower others in times of uncertainty, while balancing changing priorities in a dynamic environment
Possess a basic understanding of data integrity regulations
This role requires:
Must have an AS/AT/AAT degree in Engineering or a related field along with 5+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in a pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility is desired
Gowning and Physical Requirements:
Full cleanroom attire (examples may include: including laundered undergarments, gown, facemask, hairnet, safety glasses, safety shoes and booties, latex gloves and the use of sanitizing agents during gowning process including IPA) Ability to remove jewelry, makeup and nail adornments when wearing cleanroom attire
Ability to perform physical requirements for entirety of shift (up to 10 hours) in a clean room environment
Some physical requirements can include but are not limited to: bending, climbing, crawling, kneeling, reaching, reaching overhead, sitting, squatting, walking, standing, driving, hand manipulation and ability to lift/push/pull up to 50lbs
