Senior Director Infectious Diseases

We are seeking a Senior Director to lead our Infectious Diseases research team, setting strategic direction and identifying novel technological approaches to advance therapies for infectious diseases. In this role, you will guide drug targets from early discovery through clinical development, while representing Regeneron's Infectious Diseases research vision within the broader scientific community, cross-functional forums, and to senior leadership. Discover your role:

• Build, develop, and directly supervise the Infectious Diseases research team, providing strategy, vision, and both short-term and long-term goals
• Communicate and align on priorities, policies, and goals between senior leadership and the broader Infectious Disease group
• Identify new strategies or technologies, including antibody engineering, vaccine platforms, and genetic medicines, for pursuing novel infectious disease targets
• Set priorities and drive go/no-go decisions for targets and projects as they move through the development pipeline
• Represent the group's goals and vision in departmental, cross-functional, senior leadership, and external meetings
• Collaborate broadly across therapeutic focus areas and technology groups, forging relationships that advance infectious disease research as a systems-level endeavor
• Mentor the Infectious Diseases group, providing opportunities and challenge to develop team members to their full potential
• Oversee review of infectious diseases-related documents, including regulatory submissions, manuscripts, and contracts

This role requires:

• BS/BA degree in a related field required; MS and/or Ph.D./M.D.
• 15+ years of progressive industry/relevant professional experience
• Deep and broad expertise in infectious disease research (e.g., virology, immunology, microbiology, or a related field)
• Familiarity with cutting-edge technologies, including antibody engineering, vaccine platforms, and genetic medicines, with proven experience applying them to infectious disease questions
• Strong leadership, managerial, and mentorship experience, along with experience administratively directing a group (e.g., managing budget and organization)
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate both science and vision
• Preferred: exposure to drug development or similar regulated activities
• Preferred: broad network of colleagues and collaborators, strong publication record, and national/international reputation
