We are seeking a Senior Manager, Rare Disease Marketing Strategy, Japan to join our Rare Disease Commercial Business Unit, supporting our Japan business in a hybrid work model. In this role, you will lead brand strategy and execution across rare disease areas while collaborating with Medical Affairs, Sales, and cross-functional teams. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, science-driven organization making a meaningful difference to patients worldwide.

Discover your role:

  • Lead brand strategy and execution for designated rare disease areas in Japan.
  • Drive local brand planning through market analysis and customer-focused messaging.
  • Partner with Medical Affairs to develop aligned brand strategies.
  • Analyze brand performance drivers, risks, and opportunities to improve outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver disease area and product education to cross-functional teams.
  • Lead external stakeholder engagement, including congresses and healthcare professional meetings.
  • Create promotional materials and support field execution through sales communications.
  • You thrive in a fast-changing environment and build alignment across stakeholders.

This role requires:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 8+ years of biotech or pharmaceutical brand marketing experience.
  • Marketing launch experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives from strategy through execution independently.
  • Proven success delivering results in highly cross-functional environments with limited resources.
  • Expertise managing advertising agencies, suppliers, and annual budgets.
  • Knowledge of local healthcare compliance requirements and promotional regulations.
  • Experience developing brand strategies, promotional plans, and stakeholder engagement programs.
  • Strong leadership, ownership, initiative, creativity, and adaptability.
  • Excellent planning, prioritization, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Business-level English proficiency, written and spoken.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 10-20%, including occasional weekends.
  • Rare disease sales and marketing experience preferred.
  • Science background preferred.
