The Associate Director, Customer Insights - Oncology, will report to the Senior Director, Insights & Analytics (I&A), Oncology, within the Commercial Intelligence & Operations (CI&O) department. This highly visible role will lead Customer Insights activities for Regeneron's US Oncology team with focus on solid tumors and lung cancer. Discover your role:
The role will partner with and serve as a strategic advisor for the Oncology Commercial Business Unit (CBU) stakeholders to inform and shape business decisions, specifically focused on solid tumors and lung cancer. The individual will require a strong understanding of how and when to use specific market research methodologies to drive a high-resolution and up-to-date market understanding, to inform commercial strategy and brand planning.
Lead
Lead market research plans and individual projects, that generate meaningful insights, inform and shape business decisions and strategy for Oncology, including US HCP/patient initiatives
In collaboration with Oncology CBU team members and the Senior Director, I&A, lead market research vendors, budgets, plans, insights to maximize Insights and Analytics (I&A) investments that align with business priorities and help drive brand decisions and growth
Develop
Develop innovative Customer Insights plans that align with strategic imperatives for Oncology, demonstrating an ability to translate insights gaps into key business questions and timely inform the optimal research approach
Proactively recommend studies that inform critical brand decision-points and address brand opportunities and challenges; proactively champion implementation of innovative/AI driven primary market research approach and analysis in a compliant manner
Partnership and collaboration
Develop and maintain a mutually beneficial partnership with stakeholders across Oncology CBU, CI&O and Global teams; strike a balance between project rigor, timelines and ability to influence decisions
Manage market research suppliers to design, scope, execute and analyze research results and develop business implications
Collaborate with the Oncology CBU, CI&O colleagues and other stakeholders, to influence data capabilities; stay informed and share market landscape and competitive outlook
Work closely with Advanced Analytics and global partners as needed, to effectively measure brand performance using various data sources; address related questions from senior leadership
Execute
Demonstrate proficiency and drive continuous improvement in primary research designs and analysis (qualitative and quantitative), and develop customized innovative research solutions to address complex strategic issues across HCPs, patients, accounts etc.
Manage all primary research in accordance with internal compliance policies and best practices, with agreed upon preferred vendors
Recommend reasonable, evidence-driven business-building ideas, while encouraging the use of customer and market insights to inform strategic business decisions
Establish, manage and share outcomes from plans that measure and track performance against critical success factors
Synthesize insights and analyses from a variety of sources (marketing research, competitive intelligence, secondary data) to inform strategic choices and decisions; develop and present findings to business teams and senior management
Consolidate and integrate a variety of data and information into actionable and differentiating insights that identify business opportunities/strategies, keeping in mind portfolio implications
Create compelling presentations that communicate complex insights in a manner that is easily understood and actioned upon
This role requires:
BA/BS required; MBA/MS preferred
10+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech commercial experience (or 7+ years for MBA/MS), in roles of increasing accountability; prior experience with leading brands preferred
Experience in biologic drugs and oncology (required); experience in lung cancer market preferred
Functional expertise in HCP/patient insights, primary research methods; with experience in analog forecast development, business analytics, competitive intelligence highly preferred
Demonstrated success in using market research to inform and influence important business decisions
Expertise in survey design, data analysis, managing suppliers, presenting results, and recommending courses of action supported by research findings
Strong experience in establishing strong partnership with brand teams, cross-functional communication and consensus building
Strong technical understanding of marketing research methodologies and knowledge across multiple research tools
Demonstrated knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment related to product development and commercialization in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry
Demonstrated flexibility, leadership potential, influence and emotional intelligence in working across stakeholders and cross-functional teams
Experience managing multiple projects concurrently against stringent deadlines in a fast-paced, timeline-driven environment; strong project management experience required
Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking ability
Concise and impactful written and verbal communication skills
Expertise in data visualization and data storytelling of market research findings
