We are seeking a Manager Medical Operations Medical Affairs Japan to join our Medical Affairs team, supporting our Japan organization in a hybrid work model. In this role, you will drive compliant and efficient Medical Affairs operations while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and Medical Affairs colleagues. Discover your role:
- Drive compliant execution of Japan Medical Affairs priorities across therapeutic areas.
- Maintain audit readiness through document management, tracking, and recordkeeping.
- Support Medical Affairs activities in local systems and GxP processes.
- Localize SOPs, work instructions, checklists, and process guides for Japan.
- Lead vendor onboarding and lifecycle management with key stakeholders.
- Manage contracting, procurement, budgets, purchase orders, invoices, and payments.
- Coordinate meetings, advisory boards, congresses, and training event operations.
- You build practical processes that improve quality, efficiency, and transparency.
This role requires:
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Approximately 7-9+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience.
- Experience supporting Medical Affairs operations, project coordination, vendor management, compliance, or operational support.
- Knowledge of compliance, transparency reporting, document management, procurement, contracting, and regulatory operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Veeva, Vault Medical, PromoMats, procurement, contracting, and financial systems.
- Fluency in Japanese and business-level English.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, vendors, systems, and stakeholders independently.
- Ability to travel for meetings, congresses, events, and business activities.
- Experience with Medical Affairs events, congress logistics, and process governance preferred.
- Knowledge of iCertis, SAP, or similar procurement, contracting, or financial platforms preferred.
- Experience partnering with finance, procurement, legal, compliance, IT, and global teams preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, teamwork, and continuous improvement mindset.
