The Sr Staff Enterprise Integration Platform Architect is a senior technical leader responsible for defining the architecture, strategy, and governance of the enterprise integration platform within Regeneron’s Industrial Operations and Product Supply (IOPS) organization. This role serves as the authoritative voice on how integration infrastructure, middleware, and enabling services are designed, scaled, and operated — ensuring the platform provides a reliable, secure, and compliant foundation for all integration delivery across a GxP-regulated biopharma environment.

As a Sr Staff Enterprise Integration Platform Architect, a typical day might include:

  • Define the platform vision, reference architecture, and technology roadmap covering iPaaS, APIs, events, and data movement.
  • Evaluate investments (build vs. buy), run vendor assessments, and prove out emerging tech (e.g., event mesh, API gateways, cloud-native services).
  • Align the roadmap to business capabilities and application modernization; model capacity and scaling for growth across IOPS.
  • Run platform governance: intake, pattern exceptions, capacity planning, and change advisory. Maintain the Integration Catalog and configuration baseline (APIs, events, SLAs, endpoints, dependencies).
  • Retire legacy middleware, consolidate connections, close observability gaps; improve reliability and MTTR.
  • Ensure architecture and operations support GxP (21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11), data integrity, and audit trails. Define validation strategies; partner with QA/Validation for platform qualification and inspection readiness. Embed compliance-by-design: security controls, access, change control, audit logging; apply SOX, privacy, and cybersecurity standards.
  • Define shared services (connectors, canonical models, error handling, logging, monitoring) to accelerate delivery. Establish onboarding, developer experience standards, and self-service guardrails. Drive CI/CD, IaC, and automated testing for integration deployments. Partner with cloud/infrastructure teams to provision, secure, and monitor all environments.
  • Serve as design authority—set and govern patterns, topologies, and service configurations. Lead reviews for complex/high-risk integrations; define performance, availability, and recoverability NFRs. Own the Integration Pattern Decision Framework, API standards, event schemas, and platform design principles. Resolve cross-cutting concerns with app, data, security, and infrastructure teams.

This Role May Be for You If You Have:

  • Deep expertise in enterprise integration platforms and middleware technologies, combined with the architectural vision to shape how those platforms serve an entire organization.
  • Comfort operating in a regulated biopharma environment where validation, compliance, and data integrity are embedded into platform design — not bolted on afterward.
  • A collaborative, influence-based leadership style — as comfortable defining platform strategy with senior leadership as you are deep-diving into configuration details with engineers.
  • A drive to continuously modernize, simplify, and scale the integration platform while managing the realities of legacy systems, organizational change, and competing priorities.

In order to be considered for this position, you must hold a BS/BA in Information Technology or related field along with 12 years of experience in a relevant industry or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 8 years’ experience managing IT projects. At least 8 years hands-on experience with one or more technology solutions. At least 5 years in an Architecture role or equivalent.
