Regeneron’s Purification Development team within Preclinical Manufacturing and Process Development (PMPD) is seeking a Process Development Engineer I to develop, build, and deploy analyses, visualizations, and fulfill data requests that support the needs of purification process development. This role is ideal for a data analyst with a strong foundation in chemical or biomedical engineering and a passion for building impactful solutions in close collaboration with scientists and process engineers.
You will work at the intersection of software engineering, data science, and bioprocess domain expertise—working closely with process engineers to understand data pain-points across Purification’s varied subgroups and collaboratively implementing analyses and tools that will be put into action within Purification’s daily operations. Your work will streamline workflows, enable easier data access through system integration, and accelerate decision-making.
A Typical Day in the Role Might Look Like:
- Partner closely with scientists, engineers, and analysts to understand purification development workflows and identify high‑impact opportunities to improve data flows.
- Aggregate, clean, and structure complex datasets to enable scalable, repeatable analyses or visualizations.
- Design, develop and apply statistical and modelling techniques to drive data-informed decision-making or accelerate daily operations.
- Deploy data pipelining and aggregation tools that enable engineers to easily find the data they need and derive insights.
- Maintain communication with Purification and IT stakeholders to evaluate solutions.
- Collaborate with data scientists and data engineers across PMPD to improve best practices and teach citizen developers.
- Enhance, maintain, and extend existing analytics tools and platforms to support new use cases and evolving business needs.
- Contribute as an active member of Agile teams within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), supporting planning, delivery, and continuous improvement.
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies to strengthen data analysis capabilities

What You Bring
- Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline with 0-3 years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience in bioprocess development, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or a closely related domain.
- Demonstrated ability to design and develop data tools to solve to complex, real‑world problems.
- Programming skills in Python and SQL, with an understanding of data modeling and database design.
- Experience working in Linux/Unix environments and using Git for version control and collaboration.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to partner effectively with scientists, engineers and analysts, while mentoring citizen data scientists.
