Principal Scientist, Precision Medicine (Biomarker) Strategy Lead

The Precision Medicine department at Regeneron is responsible for designing and executing the overarching translational and clinical biomarker strategies for therapeutic candidates during clinical development. We are seeking to hire a Precision Medicine Strategy Lead at the Principal Scientist level focusing on solid tumor oncology, heme malignancies, and immune oncology.

In this highly matrixed role, the Principal Scientist will be responsible for defining the key scientific questions relating to the drug target mechanism of action, disease biology and prognostic biomarkers associated with disease heterogeneity and severity, as well as informing potential patient stratification or selection. This information will guide development of a robust Precision Medicine strategy.

Discover your role:

  • Leading focused assay development and implementation of assays and associated sample collections throughout a clinical trial.
  • Coordinating data analysis through collaboration with computational scientists involved in integrating multi-omic data: genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics.
  • Interpreting results and leading communication of the key impact of the data to guide decision making to inform the clinical development strategy.
  • Enabling advances in target identification, indication selection, early indication of biological activity and patient stratification/selection.
  • Partnering cross-functionally across Research, Clinical Development, Clinical Pharmacology, Companion Diagnostics, Biostatistics, and Clinical Operations to ensure seamless scientific alignment.
  • Managing internal and external research collaborations to enable development of clinical fit for purpose assays and translational research.
  • Contributing to technical reports, study memos, clinical study reports, and scientific publications.

This role requires:

  • The ability to drive, manage, execute and deliver timely results for complex scientific projects.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • A strategic understanding of the application of biomarker technologies to basic, translational or clinical research.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and work in cross-functional teams.
  • A Ph.D., M.D., or MS and 4-7 years' experience participating effectively on cross-disciplinary teams in pharmaceutical or biotech.
