We are currently looking for an experienced Automation Technician to join our growing team. Our Automation Technicians are responsible for supporting and troubleshooting biopharmaceutical manufacturing/filling/packaging equipment that use Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) at Regeneron’s Industrial Operation and Product Supply organization.

  • Location: Rensselaer, New York, United States

  • Shift Requirements: 2nd - Tuesday - Saturday 04:00PM - 12:30AM

Discover your role:

  • Providing automation technical support, troubleshooting and assistance during routine operations, maintenance activities, equipment setups and changeovers for manufacturing operations of GMP Bulk Biologics, Fill/Finish, and Clean Utilities systems.

  • Identifying and implementing corrective or preventive maintenance, component replacements or corrections on automated systems as needed.

  • Communicating and coordinating Automation issue resolution for manufacturing and facilities groups.

  • Full gowning when entering and working on production floor.

  • Using specialized personal protective equipment as required, including arc flash, when working near energized equipment or when working in construction environments.

  • Working independently and safely around all industrial equipment.

  • Demonstrated troubleshooting mentality with strong curiosity, attention to detail, and a commitment to reliable, compliant operations.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a dynamic, high-pressure manufacturing environment.

This role requires:

  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, and computerized systems, preferably in a regulated environment.

  • Knowledgeable with ladder logic, PID control, electrical control systems, instrumentation, and current and voltage characteristics in DC and 120/240/480 VAC circuits.

  • Can diagnose or troubleshoot electrical control circuits using a digital Multimeter and electrical schematics.

  • Possessing a basic understanding of data integrity regulations.

  • The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve automation and control system issues.

  • Proficiency using computer-based systems, software applications, and digital tools in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to quickly learn new automation technologies and adapt to changing operational needs.

  • Participation in a rotating on-call schedule (typically one week every four weeks) and remaining accessible during assigned coverage periods to provide remote support and technical guidance; on-site response is generally not required.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with automation platforms, control systems, HMIs, or PLCs.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES), data historians, or related computer systems.

  • Prior experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
