The Principal IT Applications Analyst for Digital Products has responsibility for the successful assessment and planning of innovation initiatives that involve new and emerging technology, or the application of established technologies new to Regeneron. This role drives initiatives from the conceptual stage, and evaluates new and emerging technologies and their application, coordinating cross-functional teams and managing external consultants, vendors, and contractors. This role also serves as the main technologist point of contact for key stakeholders from conceptualization to the realization of benefits, promoting the intelligent adoption of technology across IOPS
As a Principal IT Applications Analyst, a typical day might include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Works closely with IT management and the clients to identify and specify business requirements and processes in diverse development platforms, computing environments (e.g., host based, distributed systems, client server), software, hardware, technologies and tools.
- Works closely with the PMO/Solutions Delivery, Infrastructure, Operations, Planning and Security teams, business partners, and vendors to define, develop, and build proofs of concept or prototypes. Ensures the successful transition from the prototyping or proof of concept stage to the formal IOPS IT project lifecycle.
- Provides support to resolve challenges that surface during the feasibility phase of initiatives and determine solutions that preserve the value-proposition of the technology.
- Understands business needs to propose solution options including advice on design, implementation, tools, scalability, system performance and dependencies.
- Is on the forefront of new and emerging technologies and applies it towards real-world challenges within IOPS.
- Perform due diligence on emerging technologies, develop action plans to pilot promising energy efficient technologies, and execute and report project findings.
- Drives a creative mindset across all teams in the business.
- Prototypes concepts and ideas with engineering to deliver real world examples.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of a broad range of emerging technology trends and identifies opportunities where technology might be deployed in order to deliver business improvements and competitive advantage.
- Investigates and develops innovative methods of exploiting IT assets to the benefit of the company.
- Detects emerging trends and makes recommendations for change.
- Evaluates new systems, and technology and recommends solutions.
- Collaborates to design, implement, and modify processes and procedures to improve workflow or look for ways to simplify business processes.

- Practical experience dealing with project management, particularly dealing with the implementation of new technology and ways of doing things.
- Ability to understand and engage broader business strategy, work with key department leaders and stakeholders and align activities and initiatives.
- A demonstrated ability in creation of requirements, design documents and test scripts
- Must be competent to work at the technical level of all phases of system design and implementation.
- Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally together with strong presentation skills.
- Ability to anticipate client needs and propose alternative business solutions.
- Strong Customer Service focus and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding and experience with agile methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
In order to be considered for this position, you must hold a BS/BA in Information Technology or related field and minimum of 8+ years relevant experience supporting technology projects and implementations. 5+ years’ experience in gathering requirements and business analysis. Experience in product evaluation and end-to-end implementation to internal and/or external customers is a plus. Project Management Experience and professional qualification preferred. May consider experience in lieu of education; level decided upon completion of an interview process.
