We are seeking a dynamic Associate Director, Marketing to join Regeneron’s newly established international organization as a key player in the Japan Leadership Team. This pivotal role involves leading Regeneron Japan’s marketing team and coordinating local marketing activities. This position offers significant opportunities for growth and the chance to create a significant impact on our brand strategy in Japan.
In this role, a typical day might include the following:
Building, developing, and leading a high-performing marketing team to deliver on product KGI/critical metrics through strong cross-functional leadership and team development skills.
Accountability for the overarching brand marketing in Japan and providing input into the development of the global brand strategy, functional plans, and budget.
Being responsible for the brand planning process for Japan, including analyzing the competitive landscape, identifying key promotional opportunities, and developing customer-centric and differentiated messages to key target audiences.
Working in partnership with local counterparts in Medical Affairs to build and agree on an aligned brand strategy.
Analyzing drivers and barriers of brand performance (e.g., share of voice, market dynamics) and proposing actions to address opportunities or risks to performance.
Developing and driving external customer engagement plans (including national congresses, HCP meetings) in coordination with cross-functional teams.
Crafting local promotional materials aligned with the local and global brand plans for use by the sales force and via digital channels.
Providing direct reports with appropriate and relevant feedback, mentoring, training interventions, development planning, and talent management.
Working closely with the Sales Team in crafting and implementing the Field Plan of Action and Field communications at sales meetings in collaboration with internal and external partners/collaborators.
Developing local promotional budget and handling spend in line with the approved budget.

In order to be considered, you must have a bachelor's degree and 8-10+ years of biotech/pharma brand marketing experience, along with 4-5+ years of people management experience. Fluent Japanese. Business-level English language skills (written and spoken) is vital. Preferred qualifications include a successful record of running and leading top marketing talent, a consistent track record in new product marketing, and strong leadership skills in a start-up environment. Additionally, candidates should have a deep understanding of local healthcare compliance codes and regulations related to promotional activities, and open to travel as required (20-30%).
