Job Description
We are seeking an independent and experienced Senior Scientist to join our VI Next technology development team. You will collaborate cross-functionally to develop and improve animal models to study various immunological diseases.
As a Senior Scientist, a typical day may include:
Designing and performing immunization/infection/tumor experiments in mice
Performing serological assays such as ELISA or Luminex to measure antibody responses and inflammatory markers
Isolating immune cell populations and performing multicolor flow cytometry
Performing tissue staining and microscopy
Assessing the effects of various therapeutic molecules on disease progression
Reviewing literature and proposing innovative ideas and solutions
Interacting with cross-functional teams and presenting data in small and large group settings

Can independently design, perform, and analyze experiments in a reproducible manner.
Are capable of coordinating multiple projects and working collaboratively across groups
Are highly organized and experienced in maintaining detailed records
Have a desire to continually take on new challenges, learn new techniques, and expand your skill sets to meet the evolving needs of the group
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have at least a PhD with 0-5+ years or a BS/MS with 8-10+ years of of relevant lab experience in Immunology or related field. Experience in immunology with a focus on B-cell biology is strongly preferred. Must have extensive in vivo mouse handling experience including infection/immunization, blood sampling, tissue collection, and immune cell isolation. Proficiency with serological assays and multicolor flow cytometry is also required. Experience with tissue imaging is a plus.
