The Security Administrator plays a key role in ensuring the safety and security of the IOPS facility in Raheen. This role is responsible for administering the Security Access Control System and maintaining security documents and information. The Security Administrator also performs security protection duties including site access and patrol, conducting investigations, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
A typical day might include, but is not limited to, the following:
Administrating the Security Access Control System to ensure the correct individuals are provided access to restricted areas; Partnering with area owners to create access groups for their respective areas and to ensure appropriate access is maintained; Advising individuals on documentation requirements and instructions; Examining credentials of persons desiring entrance to restricted areas; Ensuring access documentation is completed accurately with appropriate approvals in accordance with SOP’s; Entering access data into appropriate computer systems; Regularly auditing access to restricted areas and performing corrective actions necessary to ensure compliance; Compiling and preparing access data reports as needed
Performing security protection duties including site access and patrol; Greeting and processing all persons desiring entrance to the site; Verifying credentials while maintaining a professional demeanor; Preparing and issuing security badges and parking permits; Patrolling the buildings and grounds to ensure physical security and life safety protection; Monitoring and reviewing site security camera’s; Responding to alarms and calls for security assistance; Providing security escort as needed
Advising on security procedures and practices; assisting in the development and/or implementation of policy
Monitoring electronic protection systems including alarms, CCTV, fire, elevator, intercom, and other systems as assigned
Investigating and following up on incidents that compromise the safety and security of the site as directed by Management and/or Human Resources; Discreetly handling sensitive information; Preparing associated reports
Acting as ERT Controller directing responders as needed
Responding to emergency situations (i.e., fire, medical, and personnel related issues) and contacting the proper authorities when necessary; Assisting Gardai and other emergency responders as needed
Providing guidance and direction to contract security staff as needed.
Being responsible for special projects as assigned which may include, but are not limited to:
Conducting security audits
Planning and organizing traffic control programs and initiatives
Developing and maintaining security communications such as site radio systems
Closed circuit security monitoring and review
Maintaining key lock system
Other duties as assigned

To be considered for this opportunity you should have Leaving Certificate with 5+ years’ experience in security industry, ideally in an industrial environment or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must hold an Individual Security License (Employee Licence), as issued by the Private Security Authority under the Private Security Services Act 2004 and amended by Part 4 of the Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2011 and any other subsequent relevant amendments.
