The RGC is seeking an experienced Manager, AI R&D with expertise in multimodal learning to lead our team and drive our AI-driven research efforts in drug discovery. This role emphasizes the orchestration of large language models across diverse data sources, creating a comprehensive understanding and using the power of multimodal learning. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of drug discovery and mentoring junior developers, thus influencing the next generation of AI solutions at the RGC.

As a Manager, AI R&D, a typical day might include the following:

  • Multimodal Learning Model Development: Design, develop, refine, and oversee AI models that incorporate data from diverse sources, such as biomedical imaging modalities, to extract biologically significant signals.

  • Innovation & Research: Stay updated with the latest advancements in multimodal learning, drug discovery, and AI. Incorporate innovative research to enhance the predictive power and interpretability of our models.

  • Project Management: Lead and oversee end-to-end AI projects, ensuring that solutions are delivered on time and meet quality standards.

  • Prototyping & Testing: Swiftly prototype AI solutions, orchestrate experiments, and assess model performance on real-world drug discovery assignments.

  • Data Integration: Partner with data scientists and domain experts to preprocess, sanitize, and integrate varying data modalities into a unified framework for AI modeling.

  • Leadership & Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior AI developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

  • Collaboration: Spearhead collaborations with a multidisciplinary team at the RGC to translate AI-derived insights into actionable drug discovery hypotheses.

  • Technical Documentation: Document methodologies, results, and insights in a clear manner for both tech-savvy and non-technical partners.

To be considered for this role, you must have a MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on AI/ML. You should also have 2-4 years of relevant experience with a proven track record in multimodal learning and orchestrating large language models across varied data sources. Mastery in Python and experience with AI/ML libraries and frameworks such as PyTorch, fastai, transformers are required. Prior experience with open-source libraries for large language models and expertise in creating AI/ML applications is highly desirable. Domain-specific knowledge is valuable, but not required.

Salary Range (annually)

$121,200.00 - $197,800.00
