We are looking for an Associate Director to join the Strategic Partnerships & Business Operations team at the Regeneron Genetics Center (RGC) and lead key business development and operations projects in support of the group’s scientific mission. You will be responsible for managing a defined portfolio of potential collaborations in targeted therapeutic areas, facilitating early-stage discussions, due diligence, and agreement negotiations with primarily academic and not for profit partners.
As an Associate Director, a typical day might include the following:
Leading key in-licensing activities including search/evaluation, due diligence, negotiation including collaborations/licenses with academic and health system partners.
Sourcing biotech/pharma partners and negotiating pre-competitive consortia projects.
Partnering closely with internal legal, privacy and governance, IT Security, Therapeutic Area, Analytical and intellectual property teams to negotiate and implement appropriate legal agreements to support research and development goals.
Partnering with finance to identify, conduct and/or coordinate business/financial analysis to support the transaction process.

Experience leading negotiations of collaboration and licensing agreements; sponsored research agreements and material transfer agreements.
Working knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of pharmaceutical/biotech business development – networking, search and evaluation, partner discussions, negotiations, term sheets, and agreements.
Experience leading or participating in due diligence teams and assessing commercial value of in-licensing opportunities/technology IP.
Experience working with cross-functional teams across research, clinical, finance, legal, and administrative functions as well as third party collaborators.
To be considered for this opportunity you must possess a PhD, and 8+years of healthcare industry experience with a pharmaceutical/biotech company, health care organization, academic institution, or genome center. Additionally, a JD or MBA would be an asset but is not required. A scientific understanding of genetics, target discovery, and analytics is key because there will be regular interactions with senior management, senior scientific project teams/committees, internal business/legal personnel, and third-party external collaborators.
