Job Description
The Associate Director, Insights & Analytics, Ophthalmology will play a critical role in supporting a newly launched, highly visible, market-leading brand. The individual in this dual role will be accountable for the design, implementation, and analysis of secondary data and primary market research as well as demand planning requirements for the brand.
This role will collaborate with sales and marketing business partners, customer insights, Commercial Finance, and data management teams to develop patient-based sub-national demand planning analytics and bottoms up understanding of business drivers. The person in this dual role will also skillfully utilize market research insights and interpersonal skills to partner with Marketing teams in the development of commercial strategies and tactics.
The person in this role will require strong leadership and collaboration skills and be comfortable working independently in an integrated insights and analytics team environment.
In this role, a typical day might include the following:
Developing patient-based demand models (buy-side, not sell-side) in order to estimate trial and uptake at the HCP/zip code level
Managing epidemiology patient funnel setup and ongoing maintenance to develop sub-national estimates for brand planning needs
Identifying key drivers of business growth sub-nationally and quantifying the impact
Identifying brand opportunities and risks by indications, patient types and lines of therapy
Providing guidance on demand sensitivities and dynamics (e.g., reduction in utilization management, patient conversion/adherence trends, biosimilar penetration trends, etc.) using frameworks like tornado charts
Developing demand-side new product launch planning and tracking frameworks like trial/repeat/depth of repeat models, establishing what pace of launch uptake on a demand basis will be necessary to achieve launch targets
Ensuring that outputs from the sub-national demand estimation are shared in a timely manner with Commercial Finance
This role may be for you if you have:
Strong and demonstrated knowledge of secondary data tools
Strong quantitative mindset and orientation; ability to adeptly work with complex data sets; liaise with data analysts/advanced analytics team
Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to translate complex findings and insights into clear, succinct and actionable narratives that enable evidence-based decision-making
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills; ability to articulate and appropriately defend an insights-based point of view, persuade stakeholders and manage complex agendas
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, demanding environment; strong time management skills required
To be considered for this opportunity you must have a BA/BS required; Master’s Degree preferred. Candidate will have a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or healthcare industry with specific experience in demand planning, customer insights, data analysis, managing suppliers and presenting results. Candidates with manufacturer and/or supplier experience will be considered. Ability to travel as required. Ophthalmology/ retina therapeutic area experience is a plus.
