Job Description
We are looking for someone who applies a solid understanding of Regeneron’s EH&S processes, procedures and systems to ensure health and safety compliance standards are met. A deep understanding of how the team relates to other closely related areas to improve efficiency of their own team and produce high quality work on problems with cross functional impact. Applies understanding of the industry and how EH&S contributes to the achievement of objectives.
A typical day might include:
Functions as an advisor to the EH&S Department regarding tasks, projects and operations with a strong focus on Radiation Safety.
Leads and develops a team of employees performing EH&S tasks concerning various health and safety programs, with a particularly strong focus in biosafety, radiation safety, chemical hygiene, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, etc in a life sciences, research and development laboratory setting
Responsible for overall management of daily operational activities of professional-level or support employees performing EH&S tasks concerning various health and safety programs
Develops team goals, assigns EH&S tasks to team, and helps prioritize work. Ensures tasks are completed and team and project goals are met.
Identify, develop, and present various health and safety related training sessions
Track, report, and present on key performance indicators
Coaches and develops team members on skill proficiency and performance with general direction on tasks and provides regular feedback
Works independently and under the direction of the Sr. Manager, EH&S to implement various environmental health and safety programs and initiatives.
Provides 24/7 emergency response support during medical emergencies, evacuations, hazmat spills, etc.
May provide secondary construction project support as a subject matter expert during each phase of the project - design, construction, and post-construction.
May provide support to a specific aspect of the business such as new target characterizations, vivarium, safety data sheet development, and IACUC.
This role may be for you if:
The ideal person for this role must have experience in RADIATION SAFETY. You need to have the ability to solve highly complex EH&S problems and work on EH&S issues of diverse scope in which analysis of situation or data requires review of regulations and standard industry practices.
Use analytical skills and judgment to recommend a "best" solution.
Bachelors degree
7 + years of proven experience minimum
