The Senior Manager, Data Architect for Global Development will be responsible for the strategic design, implementation, and maintenance of complex data architectures that support business goals, in addition to ensuring data is integrated, available, accurate, and secure. This individual will collaborate with cross functional teams in designing and implementing user-centered digital solutions that are intuitive, scalable, engaging, effective and align with discipline best practice. They will work closely with enterprise IT, Data Analytics and Data Science, functional leads, project managers, designers, developers, and other stakeholders to develop information architectures, taxonomies, navigation systems, and content strategies that meet both user needs and business goals. These strategies will empower data-driven decision-making across Global Development.

In this role, a typical day might include:

  • Design and implement complex data architectures that support the organization's needs.

  • Design, develop, implement and robust maintain data models, data dictionaries, and other documentation that cater to the GD’s data needs, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security.

  • Collaborate enterprise IT, Data Analytics & Data Science, and stakeholders to formulate a comprehensive data strategy to ensure that data is integrated, available, accurate, secure and aligns with the GD goals and future growth plans.

  • Support the integration team to develop and implement data integration strategies and processes that ensure the seamless data flow and accessibility across the organization.

  • Work with enterprise architect, solution architects, data engineers and data analysts to ensure data quality and consistency across all systems and platforms.

  • Matrixed reporting relationship with Enterprise Architect.

  • In collaboration with GDS Architects, evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and processes to enhance data management capabilities.

  • Collaborate with data governance function to enforce policies, standards, and procedures to maintain data quality, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to other team members on data architecture best practices and standards.

This role might be for you if can:

  • Collaborate with functional leads, project managers, designers, developers, and other stakeholders to define user needs and business goals

  • Work closely with BSP’s (Business Solution Partner), IL’s (Implementation Lead) and stakeholders to understand data requirements and design solutions that meet those needs effectively.

  • Develop, monitor and fine-tune information architectures, taxonomies, navigation systems, data flows, processes and content strategies to ensure optimal performance, scalability and reliability that meet user needs and business goals

  • Develop wireframes, sitemaps, and prototypes to communicate design concepts and functionality

  • Create and maintain thorough documentation of data architecture, data flows, and processes, design guidelines, style guides, and other design documentation to support development

  • Collaborate with developers to ensure design integrity and implementation

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the data team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement

  • Continuously monitor and evaluate designs to identify opportunities for improvement

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following:

  • Minimum BS in a related discipline; MS or MBA is highly desirable.

  • At least 8-10 years of relevant professional experience with 5 years of relevant experience within the pharma/biotech, a CRO or consulting in the industry is required.

  • Additionally, 5+ years of functional experience and leadership is highly desirable.

  • Skilled at creating, updating, and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models that meet business requirements and align with the organization's overall data strategy.

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry in drug development is required.

  • Knowledge of Data and Integration technologies and patterns.

  • Strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies and CFR Part 11 compliance

  • Excellent communication skills to interact with ALL stakeholders

  • Good problem solving & technical writing skills

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency

  • Problem solving, analytical, quality mindset and Strong business acumen

  • Attention to detail and accuracy of work

  • Familiarity with Architecture Frameworks/Processes (e.g. TOGAF)

  • Knowledge of discipline standards including but not limited to FAIR principles, CDISC, SDTM, DAMA, Digital Data Flow

Salary Range (annually)

$126,600.00 - $206,600.00
