Associate Scientist-Bioinformatics (Tarrytown, NY)

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking an Associate Scientist-Bioinformatics (Tarrytown, NY) to implement and develop cutting-edge computational biology methods to probe the mechanism as well as explore for therapeutic avenues in multiple disease-related fields, including immune-oncology, neurological disorders and RNA therapeutics. Broadly, the scientist will explore diverse datasets and closely participate in cross-functional collaborations for multi-dimensional cell profiling, therapeutic target discovery, biomarker identification, patient stratification, and therapy design. Specifically, the scientist will be heavily involved in developing, tailoring, and optimizing computational methods for high-throughput analysis of multi-faceted NGS technology generated datasets, including single cell and bulk multi-omics sequencing data. The scientist will further be working closely with web lab collaborator teams for data processing, analysis, interpretation and visualization to support research in multiple stages spanning from research development to clinical studies. The position will also be involved in responsibilities in supervising and training fellow scientists and specialists and reporting progress on a monthly or quarterly basis. Local telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week.

SALARY RANGE: $105,269.00 - $169,000.00 per year

Job Requirements:

Requires a PhD degree or foreign equivalent in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Studies, Cellular & Molecular Biology, Computer Science or a related field and 3 years of experience in data analysis and data mining with multi-faceted Next-generation sequencing technology-generated datasets, including single-cell, bulk RNA-seq, CHIP-seq and large-scale genomic sequencing and dataset exome sequencing. Must have experience with: Writing robust and scalable code in at least one of the following programming languages: R, Python, Perl and Linux; Establishing and maintaining bioinformatic pipelines for users; Data visualization skills including developing user interactive applications such as R Shiny apps; Collaboration experience with scientific groups from different disciplines, including wet lab scientists and computational biologists; and Biochemical experiments and technological concepts investigating gene functions, including molecular cloning, protein purification, protein 3D structure, EMSA, WES, RNA seq.
