Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Sr. Assoc Scientist with experience in skeletal muscle biology, who will contribute to research projects focused on developing next-generation gene therapies for the treatment of muscle diseases. This scientist will play a key role in designing, implementing, and coordinating experiments that will evaluate the efficacy of novel gene therapies in muscle cells in vitro, as well as in skeletal muscle in vivo. This scientist will also regularly interact with colleagues from the Regeneron Genetics Medicine (RGM) team to plan and execute collaborative experiments.
As a Sr. Assoc. Scientist in Obesity, Muscle, and Metabolism, a typical day may include the following:
Performing in vivo experiments, including mouse handling, dosing, serum collection, muscle strength testing, and tissue collection.
Performing in vitro experiments, including culturing mouse and human myoblast/myotubes, FACS isolating muscle stem cells, cell transfection, and cell transduction with viral vectors.
Running and troubleshooting assays, including Western blotting, qPCR, IHC, and fluorescence microscopy imaging.
Collaborating with the Regeneron Genetics Medicine group to align on study designs and coordinating cross-departmental research.
Analyzing and presenting data at lab and group meetings, and maintaining records in electronic lab notebooks.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a BS/MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or a related field with 3-5 years of relevant experience. A strong record of innovation and research accomplishments in the field of skeletal muscle biology is recommended. Experience in working with animal models, muscle stem cell culture, and various cell/molecular techniques (transfection, RNA/protein analysis, immunostaining) are preferred.
